Hi! I'm posting this here and in "ask the expert" in the hopes of getting some feedback and help regarding my newest incarnation of artwork.
Where I need some help would be with photoshop (I don't have it, nor am I and artist) This is just a mock-up. I'll have a take-out "menu" with what's on the CD. Any feedback or help is GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks guys! PS: sorry for the double post... wasn't quite sure the best place to put it because I want feedback from everyone. |

I think you have a good concept, but there are a few things I would do to improve it. Let's start with the color pallette. I think it may be a bit busy. What I would do is lose the yellow and hot pink and limit the text colors to the various colors of the polka dots. I'm sure you'd like your name to appear as if it is printed on the green box. That is not particularly difficult to do. In my opinion, "Voice-Over To Go" ought to be on a single line, in a single font, and in a single color (again to match one of the colors already in the picture) and probably larger. I think the fortune cookie is perfect. And the web address on the ribbon needs to "follow" the alignment of the ribbon in order to appear printed on it. That would be a little fussier job than puting your name on the green box but still do-able.
Keep in mind that I am not an artist or designer. These are just my opinions.

I love the concept, but I don't like the pink on green. It's too hard to read. I agree, also, that VO to GO should be in one line--the concept doesn't jump out as quickly when it's all broken up like that.
I love the fortune cookie too. Dan7 has some experience in Adobe Photoshop. If you have any questions you can PM him. He works all day, but tries to check email when time permits and is always willing to help.

Thanks Lee and Julie!
You are both absolutely right! It is too busy and distracting. Lee, I'd LOVE to be able to make it look like it's actually printed on the box I just don't know how. Thanks Julie-- I'll give Dan7 a ring and hopefully I can make this work! Thanks for helping me out |

I played with it a little and came up with this for the green take-out box. I didn't mess with the other parts because it would have been too much of a pain to remove the existing text from the image.

Hi Dina.
Just my opinion here, but I am not feeling the v123 link on here AT ALL. I am assuming that this artwork will be for agent submissions (among other submissions), and the link to v123 suggests that they are your first priority when it comes to leads - in other words, agents often see v123 as the competition. I would suggest either your own domain website addy be there, or your email address. Having a link to your demo on your demo is somewhat redundant anyway, no? At least a website would be all about YOU, and not potential links to OTHER voice talent. What about another fortune cookie with your email on it? I think the typewriter font is a little too small, but the space doesn't allow it to be any bigger. Again, only my opinion. See you next week. |

I want to thank everyone for their help and suggestions. Nikki Saco graciously offered to help me out and came up with this final version. She is beyond talented and I'm grateful for her help.
Thanks again! Last edited by Dina Monaco-Boland; 09-18-2007 at 08:02 PM. |
