When you download those docx files from Voices.com they arrive in the form of a ZIP file. To get your MS Word converter to recognize them, you have to rename the file to change the "zip" extension to "docx." For example, "Old_McDonalds_Farm.zip" needs to be renamed "Old_McDonalds_Farm.docx" in order to be opened in Word.
BTW, I had no problem loggin in to Voices.com but I still can't get them to remember my user name and password so I have to log in each time I visit.

My particular issues are numerous and vast. I've called and emailed. Some issues have been resolved, and others not. Worried about getting paid for a job is key that got all screwed up the day of the changeover. Now I'm creating a "punch list".

I just tried to upload an .mp3 audition for the first time on the new system and got the following message:
"The filetype you are attempting to upload is not allowed. I'm using the same .mp3 format that I have used for the past year on the site and never had an issue until now. Anyone else see this message and if so does anyone have a clue as to how to solve it? I've posted a message at Voices.com but I thought I may find the solution here as well. Thanks.

Everything had been working much better.. then all the sudden today, my "featured" audio file started playing a woman's voice! I thought that problem had gone away... the funny part is that it plays correctly when looking at it in some places, yet in other categories it plays the woman.
Also, my number of "listens" has frozen and has been the same all day... I think it's busted! I work a part time job as a software "bug" tester, so I know it's normal that when you fix things, sometimes other things break... but it's still quite frustrating that this is happening.. especially to my best demo! I sent them an Email about it today but never got a response, so I imagine they're knee deep in plenty of emails... so I understand and hope they continue to work on it.. they've been doing a good job fixing things overall.

Honestly, I haven't even been on the site since before Thanksgiving. Sounds like I'm not missing out on much right now.

Well.....
Looks like the same old "smoke and mirrors" crap with different crappy graphics. None of the information makes sense and is clearly geared toward search engine rankings....for instance, look at the graphics on this page and then take the time to read the description of themselves......it really tells you nothing "About" Voices.com: About Us | Voices.com What does this mean? Well, if they're all "smoke and mirrors" with their text on their own "About" page.....how can you trust that the ranking system is valid.....or even working for that matter? Already people are stating that the info dates back to 2007.....I smell......well.......IT smells. TS |

More trouble with the voices site.
Finally some new leads -- but I am unable to upload -- and tried five different browsers -- each with its own version of "no-can-do". I have also sent email -- maybe this post will be more effective. Posted Tuesday afternoon |

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your continued dialogue. I'm pleased to report that all issues to do with login / passwords have been resolved. Anything to do with other people's demos in search results for categories is a caching issue that will soon be resolved. If you would like some tips on how to make sure you are receiving job notifications, read this blog posting on VOX Daily that I wrote this afternoon: Voices.com | How To Make Sure You're Getting Job Notifications at the All-New Voices.com Best wishes, Stephanie

This is a response to Todd Schick:
Todd, thank you for joining the conversation. I have clicked through to the link you identified and it does tell you information about our service. What do you feel is missing? If you could state what you would like to see it say openly, that would be helpful. Transparency is one of our top priorities. The ratings people are referring to from 2007 were given by clients during a brief period of time when VoiceRank was in affect (we do not have that rating system anymore - short lived) and the only way that voice talent can be rated and reviewed is through SurePay transactions tracked through Voices.com between voice talent and clients who work together using our escrow service. If someone has an issue with what they consider to be an unfair rating, they may request that the rating(s) be deleted, especially if they don't know who the client was or did not work with them. Todd, I have spoken to you on the phone before and trust that you know I am genuine and am here to help. Smoke and mirrors is a rather harsh way to describe our company and I ask that you give me the opportunity to answer on behalf of our team. What do you wish to see in our About section? I'm open to hearing your suggestions. Best regards, Stephanie
