Default Oh fer Cryin' Out Loud...

Just one more reason I will be hard-pressed to give any more of my hard-earned money to the P2P sites.

How often have you submitted a killer audition, just KNOWING you were dead-perfect for the gig, only to see this later in the day:

Closed - Note: This project was manually closed by the voice seeker before it reached its original deadline.

... and of course, yours was one of those never heard.

I'm so over it.

You must have forgotten the business model of the various P2P sites. Get the money up front, keep the hopes high and never, ever, acknowledge the problems.

Later in the day? I've gotten those for jobs I know I could knock out of the park only to see the lead is closed before I even get a chance to submit.

To be fair, Voice123 has no control over that situation. If a seeker closes a project, that's the seeker's decision. At least Voice123 lets us know. You can submit 100 demos on Voices.com and unless you are contacted by the seeker, you have absolutely no idea whether any of them ever see the light of day.

True, and true, Lee.

But again, more fodder for why it's tougher every day to think about pouring any more money into those sites.

Bottom line is the bottom line. A small percentage of subscribers get work on a regular basis on these sites -- you need only read the names listed on Voices home page (which 123 doesn't do, Lee) to know who's been newly hired and paid by Surepay, and those names seem to recur. I am sure that is the case elsewhere as well, as evidenced by the staunch supporters of these sites who defend them. Some are quite happy with them. For whatever the reasons -- that's a whole other topic.

Simply put, the rest of us are simply subsidizing those few. If everyone who does not get regular work at these sites happily left, along with our contributions, subscription rates for those happily remaining would surely have to rise. It seems to me that's just the nature of the P2P business as it has evolved.

OOOOHHH Scott don't forget your FREE 6 month membership in Bodalgo, just because you're a member of Savoa.
That should bring in a ton of work ...while rest of us who aren't members or considered not good enough to be members...suck wind.

Cheer up Scott ...we're cheering you on buddy!!

Bry, I have not a bit of doubt you'd be a SaVoa shoe-in!

I've gotten jobs through Voices.com but have never used SurePay. So I guess I'm not getting credit on their "Top 40" list or whatever it is. That's OK -- as long as I get the business.

Ok, a question. Maybe I should create another thread, but I will threadjack this one instead

What is the benefit of SAVOA? Seriously. I am ignorant to the benefits of the organization and would truly appreciate the input.
