I'm right there with ya, Jon: I wonder what Mel would think of the latest crop of animation that seems to be poppong up with more frequency on the Cartoon Network these days. Specifically, I'm thinking about that stupid "meatball/meat patty/Meatlump thing that is in AquaTeenHungerForce. Sure the voice sounds funny, but I have yet to understand anything that comes from that guy, and I frankly think it wouldn't be that funny anyway, but nonetheless without closed captioning, it would be useless to have that guy anywhere near a recording studio.
My youngest loves to watch some show called Chowder, and frankly, most of the characters on that show are completely indiscernable. I just wonder what criteria cartoon producers look for these days? It seems that they prefer gimmicky funny sounds as opposed to getting a fully rounded character to provide life to their characters.

The Man of a 1,000 voices, Mr. Mel Blance, was my inspiration as a kid growing up. That was more than 30 years ago! I wanted to be just like him, but we all know that is not possible - but some of us are pretty darn tootin' close! My favorite to do is Sylvester! Thanks for the memories...
