Hi. I'm your everyday super producer, 10 years in the business at 27.
Get all kinds of accolades for my creative and whiz-bang techniques. I've worked with all kinds of Willyards, Ann Dewigs, Mauers, Corleys, Carolis, Howard Parkers, George Lowes, RenaMaries, Steve Stones... So I've heard the range of radio vo talent. My hurdle is making that all-too-wished-for jump into voice work. Wouldja believe that the production resume actually inhibits my ability to attract vo attention? I think I'm getting written off as another wannabe before I can get my demo in folks' ears. I've got all the expensive toys I could want at my disposal. I've got a website. I've advertised on AllAccess. I pimp myself through cordial direct email blasts to radio peeps high and low, and Myspace like a mofo. I have agent pals. Still nothing. Am I just not looking in the right places? Thanks, Chadd Pierce http://www.piercevoice.com |

Actually, Chad,
that doesn't surprise me at all. I've known many a talent who has opened up a studio...and then gotten lots of production work and less VO work. They were seen as producer rather than talent. If you want to market your VO work, I'd suggest you get great training, an incredible demo and send it out. Market yourself like any other VO talent --not a talent/producer.

Julie: I reside in the beautiful "Triangle"... sittin' pretty in Raleigh, NC since my departure from Entercom-Sac in April. Missing those Jamba Juices, that's fo shizzle!! Good thing Chipotle's out here... I... might... die!!!
David J.: You is astute! Actually, in the name of shortening the story, let's say that it was a kind jesture by a friend at Abrams to post me on VB. I really don't have a TRUE affiliation with the AA gang other than that (haven't seen any attraction from the posting either-- went up early 07, but all the same it was a nice thing to do). Look, ma, I'm between Don LaFontaine and George Robinson!! Worked with their peeps on some radio imaging before, tho. Top notch group of folks. |
