Good Evening Bob!!

Thanks for all of your expertise. I have read quite a bit from you here and in many of the classes I have taken (they really seem to like you over at Kalmenson & Kalmenson).

One of the things I have seen you stress, over and over is that you should not put yourself out there before you are ready because you might not get a second listen. I believe I even read where you were a bit leery about posting one's work for critique on sites like this because people might listen to your rough work here, then not give a second chance when they receive the finished work as a true submission. I agree with your advice, but at the same time would love to get feedback on my work especailly when, through a forum like this, I have access to experts such as yourself.

In my case, I have not given my name on this forum, I have no links to a website, no picture of myself, and really no way for anyone to really know who I am.

Are agents so good they could turn on my submitted work, recognize my work, and immediately turn it off again ... or would you think I am safe to post a track or two ... ( not that I am yet ready for that ....)

Thanks for your help, and your great work. I am looking forward to attending my first Vox session when you get back from hiatus.

Hey hey!

Well, I wish the powers that be here had a way that people had to enter a password to listen to demos or sample work. Not sure the logistics. But it would be awesome if demo critique could be reserved just for other talent and not buyers.

I would think very few LA agents hunt this or other VO type sites. They just don't have that kind of time on their hands, and frankly none of them actively search for new talent. That doesn't mean they don't take on new talent, they just don't seek them out.

The problem with posting a demo on a site like this for critique is you get 200 people listening and you get 200 opinions. And (sorry gang, but this is the truth) many have no right to critique. Don't get me wrong! There are some amazingly talented folks on this and other sites. And I've read some super advice. But I've also disagreed with many comments. Since a demo critique is just one person's opinion, and even if it may not be mine, that doesn't mean they are wrong. But it can get confusing to a newbie who just wants guidance

So if it were me, and I were a newbie, I wouldn't post a demo. I'd maybe send it privately to be critiqued. But I just don't want anything I've done that is sub par to be out there for the masses to hear.

But that's just me.
