Hi Colin,
What's the cheapest way to be able to do auditions while I'm on the road in Hawaii. I know of some studios i can book if I land a job that can't wait till I return, but what about all those daily auditions? I'd rather not bring my M box...but I will if I have to... Is there a better way to record on my laptop while I'm gone? Julie

Hey Julie,
(don't mean to step on any toes, Colin - hope it's ok for me to chime in ;-) I got myself an MXL-990 USB mike for travel. Comes in a little case with a tripod stand and usb cable. Does an ok job with Audacity for road auditions on the go... My 1/50th of a Dollar, Joe J Thomas Joe J. Thomas Acting Portfolio |

No prob. Joe. A USB mic is what I was about to suggest. While they are often panned (including by me) it does serve the purpose stated well for AUDITIONS.
