New here...loving it

Hey guys, I'm new to VO, just really trying to get my feet wet...then DROWN them!! I'm looking forward to chats and WORK!!! :D

Ok, so...here's some more about me...

33, horrible speller :S...just finally taking VO seriously, but have always wanted to do it...I am currently working with Joan Baker on VO techniques after taking her Immersions class and reading her Secrets of VO Success book last year. Whew!! It's a lot more work than I thought...but I am sooooo ready. I had an interview with Johnna Gottlieb last year, and JUST left a message for her so that I can begin work on my real demo. Here's the old wack one from like 10 years ago...don't laugh

I don't really have one genre that I'd like to work within...I WANNA DO IT ALL!!! I am non-union and will be working my preverbial butt off to find a FABULOUS agent in the greater NY area. Anyone come to mind that I should hound once my demo is complete?:|

It's a friendly bunch of helpful people here.

Sounds like you've got the drive and direction. Kudos for jumping in, taking classes, and finding coaches. Big steps, but ones a lot of people try to skip over.

I hear you on the "just getting started" front. Been about 3 years in earnest for me - tho before that was a lot of prep work in theatre...

oops... By the way, check out "Leads and Reads" for posting your auditions or the "Hotseat" when you get your demos under way.

Both of these are good for getting a bit of feedback.
