Hello all,
Well, last week's "Turkey Nap" thread was a bit on the light side...
How about a rousing round of audition posts this week?
Just post your mp3 or link in this forum to have others listen and comment.
Sounds like a plan!

Okay, proud mamma here... fair warning to all.
A lead came in through many sources seeking a voice match for a 6-12 year old boy. Vic Harris passed it on to me because of my character work. After listening to the original voice I thought, you know what? I can't match that voice. So there I am all disappointed with myself when I thought, "A 6-12 year old boy? I've got one of them hanging around the house!" To be fair I should say that he's actually almost 14 (voice is nowhere near changing!) and he'd be devastated if he knew his mommy was saying he was 12.
So without further ado let me introduce to you.... Colin Boland!
Let me know what you think!
Also... does anyone know why I have to log in everytime I switch topics?

Wow, Dina... he's really close to the original sample...
Tell him "Great job, and good luck" from me ;-)
on another note... is everyone named Colin these days?

Thanks guys!!
You know, this was really a learning experience for him too. He said "now I know why you get frustrated sometimes mom-- it's harder than it looks!"
You see, before he thought I was just "fooling around" on the computer. Plus I'd hear the "I'm sick of hearing your voice over and over again!"
It took him a bit to wait a beat after I gave him direction to utilize it-- he'd begin speaking on top of my last word or two!
All in all... a fun mom & son experience! Okay, now you all know what a geek I am!-- or maybe I wasn't keeping that such a secret....
Thanks again. I'll be passing these nice comments along to Colin. You guys are sweet!!

Yes Joe. Everyone IS named Colin. Although pronunciations may differ. We're of the short "O" variety. Because we're short. It's a rule. I try to follow them carefully. Compliance is my middle name. I learned early that resistance is futile.

I stand corrected.

What a great job your son did! He is destined for VO greatness and with a name like Colin Boland, how can he miss! That's even better than Harlan Hogan for chrissakes.
Colin Boland . . . his voice will bowl you over! (OK, I'm no advertising exec!)

Nice job, Colin! Congratulations, Dina - you taught him well! But two vo talents in one house? Sounds like it could be an episode of "Big Brother"...
Colin Campbell

The Brits use the short O and the Scotts use the long O. When there is "Campbell" after it, you can bet it's a long O. Then of course there's Colin Powell.
Great job Colin.
(Wow... feels like I'm talking to myself.)

Sounds like a great use of a home vo studio to me. One booth, 2 VO Superstars!! Cha-CHING!

From your mouth to God's ears... Thanks Joe, from both of us, for the kind compliment. I don't know about the superstar part but I am pretty che.... ummm frugal!

You guys have all been so sweet to think that I actually had something to do with Colin doing well. Don't you know that 14 (almost!) year old boys don't listen to their mother?
And where are all the other submissions for this week's "Leads & Reads"? Colin can't be the only one who auditioned....

Diane: Nice read. It's like hearing a pleasant version of "Cliffs Notes"! I think you managed a good balance between conversational and instructional.
Dina: I keep meaning to post, but I've got a whole lot shakin' - Next week is even more busy! (hush-hush stuff for now...)
Cheers,

Nice work Diane!
Colin's true talent lies in video games... why, he's practicing almost 24/7. We're soooo proud! *PLEASE NOTE THE SARCASTIC TONE
