Here's by far my most weirdest audition thus far in a a 19 year career
feel free to use any of it in a production of your choice

Scott! Nice, conversational chicken. I like it!

I'll see your chicken, and raise you a turkey::uglystupid2:

(p.s. I promise more animal sounds later this week)
((p.p.s. What is it with all the animal auditions lately?)

Jeez, I don't know, Scott.
It sounded like you were reading it. And the accent was more a South-West chicken. And I heard no passion, billboarding, or wood-shedding.
Wouldn't they have wanted a Rhode Island Red?
That was a Leghorn all the way.

Thats funny, I don't care who you are

...and so was your chicken, Scott. I didn't mean to be cavalier, and should have intro'ed myself first. I have now done so.

Meanwhile, I'll see your chicken and raise you an old sea turtle.

(whatever happened to straight voices, anyway?)

Quizzically, I remain,

Scott and Joe --
What kinds of gigs were the fowl for? I had no idea that kind of work was in such demand! Think I'll brush up on my bird work. (Very convincing jobs on them, btw.)

Robert --
Glad to hear your turtle here! These character voices are the most fun! As always, nice tone for the age, perfectly paced for the animal, hit all the notes on the emotion. That old turtle was the best written. The girl's part on this job was just stupid, so I didn't attempt...

Here's a spot I did all the voices in, except the female of course. Just thought you all might get a giggle out of it. It's for a Provincial Telephone Company in Canada

Hi, Bry --
Great voices, big guy! What a fun project. Cute animation. Thanks for posting it.

My turtles... first one supposed to be "old," second one a cramudgeonly middle age crusted shell animal...

Since you tossed out a turtle I thought I would drop in a Hare. Hare(here) is my take on the Hare that was posted on voice123.com.

I think I see a theme developing...

Colin --
Your turtle was nicely aged, good curmudgeonly quality in the voice -- and aquatic! Maybe sea turtles can be read faster than land turtles, since they swim. So the pace was good. Loved the water sounds. I was just wondering what the equivalent was for an underwater LAWN? Maybe I'm overthinking this one. It was written by a college kid, right?

Jon --
Your hare read had a great storytelling feel to it. Likeable! Since you were giving him a hint of an almost smoker's cough, you might have made him more out of breath at the outset as well. Perhaps a bit faster too. Just minor things really, since I enjoyed it very much -- very entertaining.

DBH - I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really like voicing characters like this. I wasn't too sure how out of breath the character should have been and the copy just said (coughing) so I just rolled with it. Your suggestions would have been the icing on the cake though. Thanks for the comments.

Robert and Collin -- Great reads on the Turtle. I had seen that one posted and wanted to give it shot. If it is still out there I may give it read.

Bry -- Great characters. Shows your versatility. Keep it up.

Nice... I saw that one and let it pass by because I wasn't quite sure how to approach the copy. I kept coming up with Cheezy instead of Swanky!

A lot of that one is in the production. That kind of copy is inherently dull.

123 seeker gave me 5 stars for this (average 3.5.) So now it's just a matter of time before they contact me right? Right? Yeah right.

That was perfect, Colin. Your phone should ring any minute now! (Hope so.)
