I thought I do a Khyron demo. For those who don't know of Robotech nor the character here's a brief bio

Khyron Kravshera was a wonderfully aberrant clone. He was arrogant, sarcastic, self-centred, megalomaniacal, and had no respect for authority. But he also had a charming, boyish side, and was known for his witty comebacks, and for chumming around with his aide, Grel. Khyron had a gentle voice and refined accent, in sharp contrast to the rumbling voices and brutish mannerisms of most of his fellow Zerntraedi, and his own temper and violent tendencies as well.

I think there is more fun going on here with the effects part than there is investment in the real emotions of
the character.

Take Corey Burton's Cad Bane, for example. They spent quite a bit of time working out the voice and the
effects so that they would complement each other. This way the acting comes through, and what comes
out is one bad dude.

On a character demo you should never use effect based voices anyway. I'm sure Bob Bergen could bring a
lot to this discussion.

Note what he did to build the character, Corey gave Cad a lot of gritty Western swagger, with an Austria-
Hungarian-born Peter Lorre dialectic base. My favorite example of this is "Well, Hallooo dere, li'l lady.". So
lasciviously creepy!

Agreed, Mike! Production is definitely a good thing on a demo. But you need to be able to replicate every voice on your demo live. The effects need to accentuate, not dominate.
