Hello good people,

This isn't a complete Demo, just a short little spot I'm working on. Your feedback's greatly appreciated.

I don't get it??? It just a tag, give us a full :60 or :30. Tell us a story. Only then you can pull out a snippet
out of it, and use it in a demo.

It's all about telling a story. That's what we do. We tell stories.

And that's how you build a proper demo; that's why they cost so much.
You create 5 or 6 complete spectacular commercials, and you pull the best segments out of those
commercials, to make the demo.

Thanks Mike. I know, it was only a tag. I get 'ya on the story telling, I've been a video editor for many years now and realize that the element of telling a story is the only thing that makes ANY piece come alive. Thanks for your input.

Sorry for being so rough on ya, but sometimes it takes a good thump on the head to drive the point home. And I hope my comments carry over and resonate with everyone.

I've heard hundred of demos, where folks just record and produce the juiciest parts and expect it to make sense. It takes more then that. When we tell a story from beginning to end, the dynamics of the story caries through. Only then will it make sense, only then will it carry it's own weight.

And that goes with everything we read and perform. For example, when we make up a pre-story to our scrips and fully imagine them, we can bring a real meaning to our performances; even when they're just tags.

The level seemed a bit low to me also.

If I may chime in with one thought about your piece. 7 seconds of effects for a 13 second snippet? Just for the heck of it, I played it back without the effects on the front end, if anything it may be better. At least we get to you right off the bat.

And what does laughter and a record scratch have to do with anything?
