View Full Version : My first audio book on Audible!

Finally -- it's out there. At only $4 -- it's a steal, so feel free to buy it. Not the only book I've recorded, but definitely one of the most challenging. And my first sold on Audible.

That's some big audio dynamite there, Diane! I bow to thee... :notworthy:

Thanks, Jody and John. Can't wait for the second book from this author -- he writes exceptionally well.

Great stuff, Diane. I checked it out and found myself wanting more--isn't that what every author and VO wants??
How'd you land the gig? Did it come thru a P2P site?
Anyway, have to go download it now...

Yes it is, Lori -- you're so sweet to say so -- and to buy it, too!! (Actually it was a job I did in March -- a lead from bodalgo!) Just now released.

Super cool, Diane! You've landed one of my small smattering of dream jobs:
- an audio book on audible.com
- any documentary narration for NatGeo or Discovery
- any spot where my main competition would be Morgan Freeman
Kudos and may many more come your way!

Yes, Scott. It's my targeted goal. I am making real inroads into audio book work -- and I have been concentrating my efforts in that direction for some time now. There will be more to come -- those irons in the fire are starting to turn red now.

Good read too ;-)

That's really cool, Diane. Congrats!

Diane - Awesome! This is very cool.
The sample was very enticing.
I hope it gets a billion and one downloads.

Love your voice, Diane.

:smitten:I'm buying my copy! Honestly, Diane, that is SO wonderful! I could never, ever voice anything that long. You ROCK!!!

Thanks to all for your kind words and support -- and many thanks for buying a copy, Ember. It's a well written tale -- and a great stretch for me -- especially with all the R-rated content and language. The clip is mild. I got in touch with my gritty side.

Diane, you would have loved seeing Jim Dle at last night's VO event in NY. During one part of the presentation he coached a newbie doing a reading of a short segment from A Christmas Carol. Then the guy re-read the passage, incorporating Jim's direction, and made a ten-fold improvement. (Jim was basically the only panelist representing the audio book world. Richard Thomas also brought a unique persepctie you would have enjoyed.)

Oh, I would have, Lee. It's been a hectic month for me, I'm afraid. Hopefully I'll get back into the city a bit more in August -- the APA is having one of their mixers in a couple of weeks.

Very nice Diane. You did a fantastic job on it.
