I'm back and forth with a few different types of computer mice..

trackball, trackball four button, trackball two button, scroll wheel, etc.

right now I have a Logitech marble mouse with Pro tools on a Mac and I can't quite
get the dexterity I had with a cheap scrollwheel and Audtion3

any suggestions?

Yeah, Forget the mouse all together (for your DAW anyway) and get a tranzport ( Frontier Design Group (http://www.frontierdesign.com/Products/TranzPort) ) It works with most DAWs and I have loved mine ever since I got it. The best part is that the Tranzport is a wireless device, so you can move further away from your noisy computer and you don't need a hard surface to set it on like you would a wireless mouse.

The Logitech MX Revolution is the best mouse that I have found. It's great on Mac and Windows. It's wireless but you don't have to replace batteries. It has a recharge base. A single charge lasts me monday-friday. I then recharge over the weekend.
