I was thinking... have we ever had a thread on the subject of "Who (what services) should you join to promote yourself".

We all know that marketing is hard work, and an on-going important part of being succesful in this business. If you sit home and wait for the phone to ring all day, without anyone knowing your number, the phone won't ever ring. So you need to have your name and number out there, but where should you start?

There's the obvious "Pay-to-play" services like Voices.com, V123, Commercial Voices and even Bodalgo. Any other services people should know about?

Jacob...

Interesting thread...thanks for starting it.

I promote myself through my LinkedIn.com profile. It offers enough space for a professional bio, opportunities to connect with people locally and nationally who aren't necessarily other voice talents but people who may have the need for one, as well as a Twitter-like status message that one can use to let others know what you're up to at any given moment.

My LinkedIn address is not only on my signature here, but I cross-promote it on my V123 site and other marketing efforts I have. I've connected there with great people like Armin from Bodalgo, Jodi Krangle, etc. It's free and it works for me.

Just my two cents...or krone
