I'm very newbie, and I would like to get a digital voice recorder to practice with. I have a contact to record my demo reel, etc., but I wanted something that I could practice with and play back to make any necessary changes before I professionally record it. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd like something that I could connect to my computer so I could email these practice recordings for critique, and of course, something that has a decent playback sound. Different folders would be great, too, so I could separate the different recordings. I'm not wanting to spend a lot, as it's only for practice, not actual recordings to send for jobs, etc. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

There are a number of handy digital recorders out there under $60 that are perfect for that. Check out Radio Shack, Fry's or Bust Buys.
This one looks straight forward and to the point.

I use a Zoom H4 when I'm out on auditions to record when I'm practicing, this way I can play back a take and see if I'm on the right track.
Zoom makes some simpler models, and there are some Mp3 players that have mics too.

Gidget,
Mike is quite right, the Zoom H4 is great or you can find several others here Recorders at Guitar Center. | Search Results (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Search/Default.aspx?src=recorders)
When you get a chance, please post an introduction in our welcome introduction section, it'll helps us know how to help you.
