** Sorry in advance for the Star Wars theme of this post. I’m a fan… I hope it brings a smile to someone. **

Opening….

(Sounds of scraping, beating and banging are heard at the Welcome/Introductions Forum door)
(VO Forum members frightfully look at one another trying to analyze what is going on)
(Suddenly, the door explodes in a dark cloud of smoke, and showers of sparks, causing forum members to spill drinks and drop their chocolate.)
(A voice cries out in the distance…)

“Save the chocolate!!!”

(A garrison of storm troopers enters the Forum)
(Through the smoky haze, a silhouette emerges)
(The only sound is the mechanical, repetitive breathing, of the all too ominously familiar respirator)
(VO Vader… has arrived)

“Sorry about the door… Uh… Guys, could you get that for me?.... Thanks.”

(There is a stunned silence among the forum members)

“Now…. Where was I? Ah, yes…. I… am here. I have spent quite some time searching the galaxy for someone. A man, well known to you all. I have felt a great disturbance in the Force. I know that… He…. Is here.”

(Sound of light saber igniting)

“I am looking for… Robert-o-wan Jadah, Jedi Master and Ruler of The Frozen Tundra. Our scout ships have indicated that he is here. I have been held up in another system, but now… I have finally reached his hideout. He must face his destiny….”

“I am offering a bounty for information on the location of the hiding place of Robert-o-wan and his band of followers. The reward includes 20 free voice over lessons, complete with my easy to follow 10-step breathing exercise. I will also include the 7 volume CD version of, ‘Lord Vader Reads Plato – The Search for Eternal Truths.’ Plus, as an added bonus, I will also throw in a subcontract for my CNN gig while I am on leave of absence during my mission.”

“Anyone that has any information regarding Master Jadah…. You will know where to find me.”

“Uh…. Again, I’m really sorry Julie about the door. Mutual of Tatooine is my insurance carrier. Here is their card….”

(Anthemic music plays as VO Vader leaves)

Hi all.

I’m Roger, as some of you may know. I heard Austin had moved the news over here. I really appreciate you keeping this going Austin. It’s a great service you are doing. I would encourage anyone that has some free time to jump in. I have had a lot of fun with it. I look forward to getting caught up with the old forum folks and meeting new ones here. (I’m not insinuating that the old forum folks are… old…. Just that they are the… old crew over there. Well, not an “old” crew over there but… Oh… you get the idea.) I don’t usually say much, but thanks for letting me drop by.

Welcome aboard, Darth (Lord?) Baker.

I trust that you will find all aboard this new state of the art flagship of the VO Republic to be... in order..(?) (Pssst... trooper - fix that blasted door!!!)

I know nothing about the whereabouts of this Jedi Jadah to whom you refer. Although I have heard that he has been known to hide among the worst villians and scum in the galaxy, so you'll prolly find him lurking around here somewhere - likely chatting up the blue two-mouthed chick in the band.

Glad you made your way to this quandrant. Don't be a stranger. Pull up a chair. There's a glass of Vespan Ale with your name on it just waiting for you.

Welcome.

Yikes -- we've been in-VADER-ed!

Hi, Roger! I had been here for some while, holding dual citizenship. Jadah-Jedi is elusive, but you'll no doubt encounter him here at some point.

I am very happy that Austin took THE NEWS FROM THE WWW here. It's a warm and wonderful planet. Inhabited by peaceful natives. Talented at VO too, coincidentally.

Glad you arrived here somewhat safely after the explosion.

Welcome, indeed!

I too like the star wars . . . not as much as you obviously, but I can get my Chewy on lol

Welcome to the board and hello again Mr. Baker.

May the Voice be with you.

Thanks guys for the welcome. It's good to see you all.

Jody; that was pretty funny. Good job.

Diane; at least we still get to keep the news thing going. I look forward to hearing your stories again.

Clinton; May the Voice be with you... That... was very clever. Wished I had thought of that one... I did the Star Wars thing because of the ever changing avatars of mine and Robert's on the old boards. I was missing his humor.

It's good to know Scotty P, Robert, Colin, Lee, Diane, JS, John B, and the rest of the gang (too many to mention) have another place to meet. I look forward to talking to all of you guys along the way again.

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away
A small band of voicers made friends, pithy comments, and many funny audios
But they were attacked, and fled to distant corners of the VO universe...

But Lucas now, Roger: happily reunited, Sith I.

(Glad you found us. Glad you're here.)

Gladly Yours,

Roger Baker

Nice! Seems we've got the makings for a plot here... or a Vader-off, at least.

I have actually been the voice of Vader for Lucas a few times, although not lately. One was called Star Wars Chess, if anyone remembers that. I don't recall the other titles. But back then I moked and of course I don't have the secret proprietary formula for applying the proper compression and reverb. That knowledge isn't allowed to leave the Skywalker compund.

So, any Han Solos, Princess Leia's or wookies out there want to jump in?

Very cool, JS -- you did sound exactly like him, so I'm not surprised!

I was never really a big Star Wars fan, however -- so no Princess Leia in the repertoire, I'm afraid. But it's a big universe out there -- hope one shows up to carry on the mission.

JS: You really do a great Vader. I can't even come close. Don't have the "rasp" for it. Your post was really funny. It took me a while to put this one together. Had to do a lot of tweaking, plus I have been squeezed for time as of late.. When I first got the Battlefront 2 game, I thought you may have been Darth because it sounded like you. But it wasn't. I know Bob Bergen was on it as Luke. That is a fun game. And yes... if anyone else wants to toss in something, please do! It would be interesting to see where it goes....
