Live auditions? Getting someone to listen to your demo? Or recorded auditions?

Live auditions for most voice work is very rare these days. If you are not represented by an agent, then you will need to brush up on your marketing skills. If your area has casting directors, get to know them and make sure they have your demo.

Higher budget work in the major markets do some live auditions, but the vast majority of the work is cast off your generic demos or custom auditions submitted through email or the web.

If you are ready to jump into the pool, then you will need some sort of professional home studio in order to do both auditioning and actual jobs. And if you have that, then you can immediately start auditioning at one of the pay-to-play sites like voices.com and voice123.com.
