Welcome, Dylan. :) I'm fairly new to
VO myself, but just took my first workshop with Debbie Monro over the weekend here in Toronto. WOW, is all I have to say. My head is *swimming* with all that info. If you're near Vancouver, look her up. She'll definitely be a huge help when it comes to character voices and to sounding real with your copy. She's quite the dynamo, too!
I'm also a D&D player from way back - though I still play. Just about every Saturday, our group gets together (there's 9 of us when there's a full roster. I'm the only woman.). We're going to "World D&D Day" on Saturday or this week to try out playing the new 4th Edition ... but I'm not holding out much hopes that it'll be more than a glorified miniatures game. Though I guess ANY game can be a role playing game if you use enough voices.
Anyway, best of luck to you! Hope to see more of you around here. :)
