Greetings and salutations from the newest newb on the block.
I have no experience with
VO, or radio, or acting. The closest thing I've done is to roleplay some old-skool dice-and-paper D+D. Wet behind the ears? You bet.
...but I'm not delusional. I know I've got a huge mountain of work ahead of me. I am no stranger to hard work. I've been a cook and a chef for the last twenty years, and paid my own way through a BA in philosophy and culinary school. I do the things I have a passion for.
My goal with voice acting is to do animation and videogames. I live close to Vancouver, and there is a sizeable market for anime dubbing (or so I've been led to believe), and EA games has their base there, and film imports from the US, etc. We'll see. Anybody here from Van? Let's network.
Right now I'm looking into doing some acting classes, maybe an improv group or community theatre. Skill-building. I'm reading the forums, researching, cautiously dipping my toe into the warm goo of
VO. I've bought myself an MBox Mini, a sexy Shure Unidyne mic, and I've got mad computer skilz, so home production (or practice, at the very least) is where I'm at.
So, yeah. Good to be here.
