Welcome. I just joined this forum too. I started
vo'ing about 6 months ago. Just decided it was time after 22 years of travel and 80 hour weeks. So, I went to my local store and stroked a check for everything I could possibly need including a comfy leather chair and one of those coffee cup warmy things.
It's one long and winding road as the song goes. I fight the learning curve every time I sit behind the mic and it never stops. From being totally lost when the software did something strange to being my own worst critic to being just plain sick and tired of doing another audition that I'm certain won't pay off.
Bottom line for me is, one day I'll have my first last fruitless audition and that keeps me going. I'm in Charleston SC and the
VO business stinks here. No classes, no market, no groups so I just troll boards and try to keep motivated.
I'm working on a website and trying to produce my own demo which is like having your gums scraped because I don't know how to do either but I'm trying and that's what matters. It beats watching Jerry Springer all day.
May your sword be true and your shield strong, Spartacus! Long live Caesar.....Salad!
