I read the book through twice and here's my review.
You’ve taken the classes, learned how to interpret copy and use your voice to communicate the copy. An interesting demo showing your range
has been produced. Now what?
It’s time to market yourself as voice talent. How do you go about doing this? You could read Internet Marketing Plan for Voice Actors. However, judging from the first paragraph of the text, this e-book appears to be written for the well-established voiceover talent who has a wide range of clients with a developed marketing plan in place.
Unfortunately, Internet Marketing Plan for Voice Actors, won’t help newcomers to the industry answer the question. The first half of the book gives a general overview of the industry. While it gives an outline of tasks you should do, there is no explanation of how to do them.
The second half of the book discusses "Internet Marketing Strategy." This section is nothing more than an expanded outline. There is no in-depth discussion of the topics and no samples of how to and not to execute the suggested steps.
The book does, however, give an easy-to-understand explanation of how search engines work and a bit of information about how to get listed on two of the search engines. There are lists of resources to go to and services to investigate but, again, no in-depth discussion of the topics.
Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, if you are looking for direction on how to market yourself as voiceover talent, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
