Probably - for "certain" low budget spots. Even for some of the not so low budget work. I'd say, if you are union, list your agent as primary contact.

Look at some of the websites of the folks you hear every day on national radio and TV - they list their agents.

I have both - and don't believe I have ever had a client contact my agent directly. I have however sent some jobs to one of my agents - depending on the project.
